MIST is being designed by a consortium of globally recognised architecture firms, which includes Heneghan Peng Architects (HPARC), DROO, and Cadence Architects.
Heneghan Peng Architects was founded by Shih-Fu Peng and Róisín Heneghan and is focused on architecture, landscape and urban design. It has won many significant commissions, including the Grand Egyptian Museum, Áras Chill Dara in Kildare, Ireland, the Giant's Causeway Visitors' Centre, and new footbridges at the London Olympic Park. In 2009, the company won three competitions: for the Arabsat headquarters in Saudi Arabia, the Mittelrheinbruecke competition to build a bridge over the Rhine between St. Goar and St. Goarshausen in Germany, and the competition to design a new library and academic building for the University of Greenwich in London. The building sits within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to both the Department of Architecture & Landscape and the Department of Creative Professions & Digital Arts in London.
DROO is an award-winning architecture and urbanism studio founded by Amrita Mahindroo and Michel Da Costa Gonçalves, with offices in London and Paris. Their work spans across Europe, the Middle East, Australia and South East Asia.
Cadence Architects is a Bengaluru-based design studio which was founded in 2005 by principal architects Smaran Mallesh, Narendra Pirgal, and Vikram Rajashekar. The practice focuses on speculative and sensorial design, handling diverse project scales from private residences to institutional buildings.
The consortium is transforming the historic industrial site of NGEF in Bengaluru through adaptive reuse and bringing forward future innovation, which escorts culture, technology, entrepreneurship and public life within a single dynamic ecosystem.
